Product Overview: from MuddPuppy… Here’s the cheeriest looking pirate ship that ever sailed the seas! Flying not one, but three skull & crossbones flags, the jolly buccaneers seem to be attracting a seagull and fish, and even the mermaid figurehead is rated PG.
Mudpuppy’s Pirates 100-piece puzzle is based on an illustration by Olwyn Whelan for The Barefoot Book of Pirates retold by Richard Walker and published by Barefoot Books. Yo ho ho—read the book and enjoy the puzzle. The puzzles pieces are stored in an irresistible hinged storage tin. It’s sturdy, and also well designed to hold pieces of eight and other booty.
Puzzle greyboard contains 90% recycled paper. Printed with non-toxic, soy-based inks.
Review:We were happy that the puzzle was NON-TOXIC and used mostly recycled paper those are always +++ in our book. The pieces were study and large enough for little handles but not too large to not be a challenge. We love that it came with a tin, so it will survive a lifetime of use by children – no cardboard box that will fall apart in less than a day and leave you without storage for your puzzle. The puzzle is bright, fun and was just enough of a challenge for the ReviewKids ages 4+ not to get frustrated and felt very accomplished when finished. Even Mom and Dad Reviews jumped on board (haha) and walked the plank to finish the puzzle. This puzzle is great for a any day puzzle or a fun family night with the younger kids.
MommyReview’s Recommendation: Fun puzzle for game night!
Overall Rating: 5
