When you’re feeling down, what music cheers you up?
When I am feeling down, I like to play upbeat, high energy music. Why ? Because I am feeling anything but high energy and upbeat. If I listen to music that is depressing or deep I will get pulled into that emotion as well. I am a highly sensitive person so what I see visually or hear affects me easily. Essentially music is emotion put to words and through music we are able to feel someone else’s lose, pain, triumph, joy (OK well with rap it’s the joy over the 100 bill) but you get my point.
So this music cheers me up: I have very eclectic music taste so be forewarned
I have every single #1 hit on my iTouch, I love to find out what’s the latest and most popular music. Wow, kind of like MommyReview, I’m a researcher at heart.
Popular Music, because it makes me want to M O V E
Jason Derulo, In My Head
Maroon 5, Misery (I’ve been listening to them from day 1 and I’m still a fan + Misery loves company)
Nicki Minjay & will.i.am; Check it Out (she’s the new Lil Kim, wait don’t tell Kim I said that!)
Quirky Indie Bands, because they sing about things that are different and can make you think.
My latest favorite PK Band; London ( Why ? “Because it takes me back to my hometown” and they’re from my hometown it’s an awesome place, actually it’s rated as one of the happiest places in the world to live – San Luis Obispo, CA)
+You can download their whole album for FREE right now!
Dresden Dolls; Coin Operated Boy (Why ? It’s funny and the truth some days)
Sublime; What I Got (Can you tell I like California Bands? Ya I’m from Cali)
Sara Bareilles (her music is just light and truthful without being dark), King of Anything
Mumford & Sons (they’re from Ireland, duh! Just listen to their accents and melt)
Non-Depressing Country Music; Country music just gives you that feeling of hope (well most of the non-depressing songs do) when you listen.
Tim McGraw (all time favorite)
Jason Aldean; My Kinda Party (just makes you think of a simple time, chilling hanging out with friends)
Christian Music; when I’m feeling down and listen I know I am not alone.
JJ Heller; What Love Really Means (her music is honest and raw and I’m reminded I’m forgiven)
Jeremy Camp; Walk by Faith (just 411, I liked him before he ever had a top hit)
What music do you prefer when you’re very happy?
I like all the above when I’m happy as well, but I will also listen to more soothing relaxing music – some of my favorites are Jack Johnson (most artists like Jack), and Tori Kelly.
