About:
Motherhood revealed-by a high-profile celebrity mom, dynamic CEO, and Dancing with the Stars co-host and winner.
Brooke Burke knows all too well that when you’re raising four children, running a household, tending a relationship, building a multimillion- dollar business and pursuing a television career, there’s no room for pretense or posturing. Rejecting the idea that there’s some simple step-by-step path to the Perfect Body, the Perfect Relationship, or the Perfect Career, she reveals the truths about motherhood with the sincerity that today’s smart, sexy and soulful moms need. Brooke lets readers know what really goes on behind the scenes of a surprisingly ordinary life as a celebrity mom, and how she manages to make it all work (on the good days). Always acknowledging the chaos that is present in any woman’s life, Burke offers readers a more calculated approach to life and motherhood: dance through it. It’s all about hearing the music, finding your footing, and moving gracefully.
From tips about caring for your body, to her own stories about the missteps she’s made as a mother, to advice about how to handle the tough emotional challenges moms face, Brooke paints an honest picture of motherhood that all women can relate to, insisting that it’s not about being right or wrong, it’s about being your authentic, naked self.
MommyReview: We all look at the women such as the beautiful and successful Miss Burke and want to hear she has cellulite hiding somewhere, right?! Nothing is wrong with the gorgues naked picture of her on the cover so I secretly hoped inside the book would hold another reason to justify my jealousy for this seemingly perfect woman and mother of four. After admittingly insisting that I remove the book sleeve in order to not feel bad about myself each time I picked up her book I dove in not knowing what to expect. I am so happy to share my enjoyment and appreciation of Brookes honesty in sharing her motherhood trials and triumphs. I found myself laughing at her right along with her! She is whity and genuine while reminding us that we each do our best in motherhood. In the first chapter she makes it very clear that she is not writing a how-to for having the picture perfect and successful family life. While the book was a bit drawn out at times I found it refreshing to be affirmed by a successful, busy, beautiful, wife and mother who is just getting through each day like the rest of us! Brooke used MANY personal stories and defiantly did not only focus on the ones picturing her in the best of ways, I loved that. I will never look at this woman the same! I can relate my own life to hers even though we are not anywhere near a similar successful famous family we are not so different. I wish her nothing but the best and she never deserves the cellulite ;) that woman works hard and good for her!!
