Adventures in the City: Yan’s Kitchen {Restaurant Review}

We have been exploring China Town for the best Dim Sum and Chinese Food in San Francisco.

We have been going off recommendations as well as yelp! reviews trying to eat (erhhh I mean FIND) our way through the city.

After finding parking, which is a feat within itself in the city (parking garages all the way), we decided to walk around China Town and came upon Yan’s Kitchen. Yan’s is also located next to an authentic Italian restaurant which we will soon be dining at in the near future.

It is a little iffy to judge a restaurant in the city if it is “good” based off of the clientele and how “busy” they are, as most places people walk in and take out food. We were the only people in the restaurant at first but locals came in and out and some other people asked us if we liked the food and we gave them a THUMBS UP and they sat down to eat as well. We asked them after we both finished if they were impressed with their meal as well, and they said they were!

One thing to NOTE when you are dining in the CITY is that many small restaurants take CASH ONLY so be prepared.

The food was cooked fresh before our eyes and was AMAZING. Some of the best Chinese food I have ever had.

We ordered the Beef Broccoli, Combination Chow Mein and Sweet and Sour Pork.

The Combination CM was yummy, the noodles were cooked perfectly, it contained vegetables, beef, chicken and shrimp (though it was light on the shrimp… only 2 pieces).

The Beef Broccoli, normally my favorite was, saltier than I normally go for but it just seemed to work with this dish… heavy on the soy but with the crisp broccoli and tender meat it just was delightful.

OUR FAVORITE DISH was the Sweet and Sour Pork. I could barely get some scooped on my plate before everyone else devoured this dish. The pork was tender and not over battered, just lightly crispy with a mouth watering sweet sauce. It was simply divine.

This will definitely be a new favorite spot to grab some great Chinese take out!

Busy Moms on the GO: Zagg {ZaggFolio iPad Keyboard Review}

I am a MOM on the GO! What mom isn’t ?! In order to keep up with today’s fast pace of living as mom, wife, friend, daughter, sister, coworker, blogger, nurse, chauffeur and on and on and on…. We need to learn to pick and choose products and technology that makes our life streamline and quite frankly SIMPLE. With so many products to choose from it can be tough and even add to the overwhelming stressors of everyday life. I am glad that I hit it out of the ballpark when I came across ZAGG products. ZAGG has many different products that make life on the GO easier.

PROS: My favorite product that I use DAILY is my ZAGGfolio a keyboard / case for my iPad.

The case fits nicely on the the iPad, so there is no wiggle room and I feel like it is protected.

The keyboard connects via Bluetooth and is easy to use and very comfortable once you get over the learning curve of a smaller keyboard.

Even the kids had any easy time using the keyboard and enjoyed it.

I liked that I could type fast and turn my iPad into a product I used more, touch screen is great for some times but to get work done a keyboard makes this SIMPLE!

It has a good battery life, and even with continue use, forgetting to turn it off and letting it run, I do not have to charge it all the time, this is a HUGE PLUS!

You can also pop the keyboard out of the cover if you want to go mobile, you can also put your iPad into the keyboard stand vertically or horizontally if you do not want to use the case. Overall it is hugely versatile.

CONS: My only complaint was that the case (I got pink of course) shows a lot of dirt from the kids picking up my iPad and using it. I wish it was easier to clean the outside to keep it looking a tad sharper.

Disney’s Shake It Up: I HEART Dance {Soundtrack Review}

As a mother to a soon to be 7 year old (aka she think’s she 16), Shake It Up, is always on in our house. So my daughter literally screamed O M G when the CD arrived. She ran up to her room, popped the CD in and began to SHAKE IT! She loved all the songs, especially the bonus track. This collection is a great addition to any slumber party kit! I liked that other artists were featured… you just might catch this mom rocking out to the music when the kids aren’t in the car (shhhh).

If you don’t watch Shake It Up, it is a popular show on Disney Channel it is one of the #1 shows in its time slot for kids 2-11!

This show totally channels GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN (my all time fav movie!).

The collection has 12 dance tracks and is featured on the third season of the hit show.
